God, listen to her heart!

Sheila’s Prayer for You

I love you! I adore you! You are so very worthy to be praised and thanked. (Psalm 145:3) There is NO ONE like YOU. (Jeremiah 10:6) Your goodness has no match. (Psalm 34) Your mercies have no end. (Lamentations 3:22-23) Your love allows no fear in hearts. (1 John 4:18) Daddy, I bring Your beloved to Your heavenly throne. I thank You for Your deep compassion, love, and kindness toward her. (Romans 5:8, Psalm 78:38-39, and Exodus 34:6-7) Your love for her is SET and SEALED eternally. (2 Corinthians 1:22) Amen.

Reveal to her just how much You love her. (Zephaniah 3:17) Being human, she is but flesh and unique in how she receives love each season of her life. You know JUST what Your daughter needs today.(Deuteronomy 7:9) Show her You can meet her right where she is and do what only YOU, her God, can do. Only You know how to love her that perfectly. (1 John 4:16)

May she know Your love is a balm that will heal her wounds. (Jeremiah 8:22) Your love is the cure to the ache in her heart. Your love is gracious, kind, and abundantly generous at all times. (1Corinthians 13:4-7) Your love will be sensitive to her frail heart but also mighty enough to deliver her from her enemies and grant her justice. (2 Kings 17:39 and Luke 18:7)

Your love never changes. (Malachi 3:6) You loved her this morning the same as the day she was born. (Ephesians 1:4-5) Your love has sustained your daughter her entire life. (Psalm 18:32-36) She has no idea the many times Your love has covered her, protected her, and favored her. (1 John 5:18 and Psalm 5:12) Your love is long suffering and always forgiving when asked. (Psalm 103:2-4) THANK YOU! What a relief to know Your love NEVER leaves. Your love stays. (Hebrews 13:5) Your love is active and working on your daughter’s behalf day and night. (Psalm 121:4)

Speak words of HOPE and encouragement into this precious one’s heart. (Proverbs 24:14) Dispel any voices that have tried to make her feel small, unloved, or not listened to. You are for her. You want her to win this battle. (Romans 8:31-35) She is more than a conqueror because of Your love. (Romans 8:37)

Today, Father I am petitioning You to give Your attention to Your daughter exclusively this moment. Your daughter is going to close her eyes and You are going to listen to her heart. She is not going to say a word. You are just going to listen to her inner cries, secret desires, and greatest needs. Listen intently and let her heart tell You all the things it is holding. She has secrets; listen to them. She has pain; relieve it. She has dreams; grant them. She has shame; take it. She has tears; wipe them. She has done well; cheer her on! (Psalm 44:21 and Matthew 25:23)

Only You completely understand her. Only You know the real her. (Psalm 139) Only You can answer this prayer with great attention, power, and authority. (Matthew 28:18-20) When You speak the earth and heavens shake. (Job 38) Speak a Word for your daughter that will change her world, her life. Let her SEE You are working all things our for her good! Your purposes will stand. (Isaiah 46:10-11) Your Word will be fulfilled. (Isiah 55:11)

Go before her with good things. (James 1:17) Go behind her with protection. (Psalm 18:2) Walk beside her with blessings. (Psalm 24:5) Give to Your daughter Godly relationships, answered prayers, open doors, closed doors, and complete healing. Give her Your attention! (Psalm 18:7) Let Your daughter know the best is yet to come for her. (1 Corinthians 2:9) She has a great future You have been wisely and lovingly preparing behind the scenes for her. Direct her steps moment by moment to this unbelievable destiny. (Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28, and Ephesians 2:10) The destiny YOU have hand picked for her. The destiny she will not believe until she sees it with her very own eyes. (It is THAT good!) (Psalm 27:13) Amen.

May she smile when she sees Your love in action. Give her a day of beautiful things and a night of sweet sleep. (Proverbs 3:24)

Now close your eyes sister and let God listen to your heart.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus we have prayed!

I love YOU,

I am excited for your answered prayer! xoxox

Amen! Thank you for this prayer…it is the cry of my heart! My husband and I had the difficult task of burying our baby boy this week. He was our only child and we are heartbroken. I find myself so afraid of the future and I desperately need to trust God.

  7. Kirsten Tonik says:

Amen. Reading your prayer this morning really touched my heart. The devil has been attacking my marriage & my husband Craig’s mind and heart off and on for the past couple years. In October he left our boys and I. He is living states away with his little brother- while we are in Kansas City, he is in Philly.
I have reminded him daily that I love him, & he has often said, “I don’t love you and don’t want to love you” or “I don’t know if I could ever like you again- too much has happened between us”. My husband suffers with bipolar disorder, depression & substance abuse. Due to these chains he has suffered much over past few years, and instead of looking at me as his partner, one who loves him, he sees me as a threat. My heart is broken and I miss my husband. I’ve struggled trying to make sense of everything and can’t wrap my mind around it. I feel like I’m doing good lifting everything to God one minute and then to no avail I find myself trying to take the control back.

I pray for my boys and I to have peace, I pray for my addicted and troubled husband. That the Lord will protect him, remove the blackness from his heart and mind pulling his from his wide & family and that he will draw close to God. I pray mercies and restoration over our family. In Jesus name, Amen.

  8. Amen…

  9. Words cannot explain how much I needed this prayer. I am a single mom struggling with loneliness and self worth. I asked God to give me something to hold on to. I will be praying this prayer over and over.

  10. Amen!!!

  11. Amen Lord, amen!

  12. God’s perfect timing. I needed this prayer more than you could ever know tonight. After 26 years of marriage (32 years together) my husband left a couple of weeks ago, saying as most that give up do, I don’t love you and don’t want to anymore. My heart is shattered into a million pieces. I DON’T WANT THIS!!! I have been struggling these past several weeks trying to make sense of it all. Trusting God one minute and then trying to take the control back myself the next. Today was a very exhausting day. This prayer couldn’t have come at a better time. I am weak and couldn’t see a way to get through the night without constant crying. Your prayer reminded me how much God Loves Me and that all I need to do is put my TRUST IN HIM!!!!

  13. Amen!

  14. Thank you so much! the overwhelming power of our Holy Spirit spoke through your prayer Sheila and I wept and wept and wept. Thank You so much my sister in Christ our Lord and Savior.

Amen, Amen, Amen !!!! Thank you for such a beautiful and power letter to me… that’s how I felt, that you had written this just for me. That you were praying for me at the moment I read this. You are an amazing vessel of Gods word, I hope to be as articulate as you some day. God Bess you & Much Love <3

  19. Thank you, Sheila, for giving of yourself to be a vessel used by God. What a blessing to read this. I pray this prayer for both my daughters. AMEN!

  20. Smockingmommy says:

I wept as I read this for it was as if you were writing the cry of my mother’s heart. My daughter has a medical condition resulting in prolonged (days/weeks/months) of retching & vomiting. She hadn’t had an episode in over a year and thought it was a thing of the past. It raised it’s ugly head again this week, causing her to miss university classes, group projects and assignments. The university hasn’t been very helpful or accommodating as they don’t see this as a disability issue. And they have repeatedly placed her on academic probation. Last night she broke down and sobbed that she was done fighting. If she was again placed on probation because of this episode she was withdrawing and taking a community college program, which would mean that her desire to specialize would be over.

As I read this prayer, each line, each Scripture, spoke directly from my heart to my heavenly Father for my daughter, for our daughter. I know not what plans He has for her, but I do know that they will be spectacular. It is the living in the moment of the pain and discouragement that are so very difficult. Thank you for putting words to my heart.

Knock her onto her knees with the power of the Holy Spirit. Heal her from her demons and drugs. Restore her to health, physically mentally and emotionally. She’s only 22 Lord. We have tried and tried to help her, show her that she wants to choose life and restoration! Protect her and keep her close to You Lord. Bring her home to us. In Jesus’ name…..AMEN.

  96. Susan Heyn says:

Amen. Again… Sheila, I found this blog from reading my Facebook posts and liking a Proverbs31 post. What a blessing to read your letter to our Father and your letter for His daughters. I have always known God and believed in Guardian Angels (especially mine and mt children’s), but it took my late husband’s cancer battle to find Jesus. I had accepted Jesus into my heart in college, but didn’t go further than that. It took my husband getting cancer to put my foot down and tell my husband that our kids and I are going to find a church. I needed His help. We tried a couple churchs I thought my husband may want to attend. Then after our daughter cried her heart out at both, I decided to go to the one I wanted, a nondenominational Mega church our kids and I attended MOPS at. Where both our children loved the kids program. We3 were happy and once a week, I got to fill my tank. The only time I had to myself if my husband was recovering from a surgery or treatment. He battled Melanoma/ skin cancer 10 times for 2 1/2 years. Our daughter was 8 months and our son was 2 years old when he was diagnosed. I think the second time it came back, I asked God to heal my husband and He spoke to my heart, “Don’t ask that. Ask Peace to accept My plan for you.” I changed my prayer to ask that I make the best with what He gives us. Instantly, I was washed with His Peace, JOY; Trust; Faith; Understanding that I didn’t have to find a cure. I only needed to do what He asked of me when He asked it of me; a can do spirit (I was able to do anything I felt Him direct: get my husband into the oncologist I felt was right when there were so many road blocks, fire a doctor, fire a nurse, convince his oncologist to give him risky treatment that gave us at least 1 miracle of precious time. Time to celebrate our son’s 4th Birthday with close friends and my husband’s family. Time for our son to skip his nap for the 1st time to help his Daddy put together his 1st big boy bike. ; He gave me Grace to make decisions and so my actions still make me proud; His Grace so that our children understood about Heaven and that when their Daddy was called Home, it was a beautiful Homecoming. Not just the awful loss we feel missing him. Unfortunatly, my husband’s family did not feel the same and have been made at me ever since his passing. They have done many hurtful things that hurt my kids and me. We3 have to recover from their hurtful behavior like we did after every hospital stay that my mother in law watched my kids for. It’s like we3 keep getting sucked into this black hole again and again. I have been trying to get back into alignment with Jesus like I was during our cancer battles. Just recently we have changed to a new church and it is wonderful. The people are loving with out being too pushy, suportive, compassionate without feeling pity for us, and we are invloved now: parenting teach group, a no kidding Life GRoup with people I can trust, the Pastors have really offered help not charity or being of service, Christian Life Center is amazing, a Blessing. Unfortunatly, my husband’s family is either trying to sabotage us or they just don’t get it, their reason doesn’t matter. Whenever we spend time together we3 are hurt; my kids from witnessing their mama being treated poorly and not standing up for myself and worse sometimes them directly, like this past Saturday when my husband;s sister (who lives 4 hours away) who hated him and now hates me surprised us by showing up at my son’s baseball game with her family. You see, we3 were invited to my husband’s parent’s 50th Anniversary Dinner that night (we live in the same town). When I told my daughter about the dinner on Wednesday, she cried and said she didn’t want to go. She begged to go to her best friend’s house instead. I had told her it was for her Nana and Papa and that they really want her there. I even got her excited to see her cousin that she hadn’t seen in years (daughter of my husbands mean sister). Then when they surprised us, my daughter ran from her and begged me to pick her up. She is a Kindergartener and I haven’t carried her in quite some time. And they sat right next to my picnik blanket. She wanted me to hold her the whole game. All the while her Nana and Aunt were saying “come sit with us” and my daughter said, “no thank you” I finally convinced her to play up the hill with her friends where I could still see her and the game. Then when it was time for dinner. We pull into the parking lot at the restaurant and both my kids won’t get out of the truck. She kept locking the door when I clicked it open. I finally got us inside and no one stands up they barely say hi. My daughter sat in my lap. Her Nana asked for a hug and my daughter said, “No thank you” . Nana said, “oh she’s ok Susan” And I said for the whole table to hear, ” No she is not ok. she is not ok at all”. It took forever for my daughter to warm up to anyone. We3 ended up staying to the end. My daughter has been a wreck since and my son has acted like a spoiled brat and a bully to his sister. When I prayed for what to do when I got the text invite on last Monday, I heard in my heart, ” Love them”. that’s why I made my kids go. I did it for them so they could spend time with their family. Now, I feel like I did it to them. Like I put them in harms way. I need God’s Grace, Guidance, Wisdom, everthing I need to figure this out. Becasue my children don’t deserve to feel this way.
Thank you for your blog, Sheila. I think it’s what i have been praying for for almost 3 years. My husband passed 3 years ago in november and since he passed, it’s has been a worse trial than his cancer battle becasue I am not aligned with God. I so need to be.

  197. Sheila, thank you for these beautiful truths of how much my Abba Daddy loves me. I never got this kind of love from my earthly father. I am grieving my father wounds. I know prayer is powerful and is the way we fight the lies of the enemy that tell us we are not worthy of this kind of love, compassion and care. I am trusting He knows just what I need for today. I believe He already answered one prayer….. through your prayers for me. He is listening to the inner cries of my heart, my secret desires and my greatest needs. He is enough. I will trust Him. I wait for His healing of my broken heart. Thank you.
