Waiting on God

The “Power of the Three Stranded Prayer” Family,

Hope you had a most WONDERFUL summer! While I was in Jerusalem I prayed for EVERY single one of you that left me a prayer request. Every. single. one. YES, YOUR NAME AND PRAYER REQUEST WAS SPOKEN, IN HIS PRESENCE, IN THE HOLY LAND. Please let us know how God has answered you. Also, after the prayer below, if you have any prayer requests; leave them! Are you ready for another season of God’s presence and goodness? We want to continue praying for you. Last, I will have an update and note to you very soon that you don’t want to miss.

Love you so!

Everything You create is unbelievably beautiful. He has made everything beautiful in its time. (Ecclesiastes 3:11a NIV) You do ALL things to perfection and in just the right time. We know this is true, but when we’ve been waiting for what feels like a long while for a prayer to be answered … well, sometimes we’re tempted to think otherwise.

Your child feels like their prayers are a caterpillar—alone, struggling in a dark, cramped cocoon. They wonder if their prayers will forever be fighting to break free and be answered in a beautiful way. Remind Your treasured possession that the delay of answered prayer is divine. God, Your timing is not an enemy, but the dearest friend to Your child. They will see! Now faith is the assurance ofthings hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 ESV) You are for them. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31B ESV) Your intent is to bring them into Your utmost best for them!

Father, help Your loved one learn not to question Your ways. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. (Isaiah 55:8 ESV) El Emunah, You have proven Yourself over and over to be faithful.

Thank You for faithfully acting on our behalf. As You are working behind the scenes, Your beloved is being transformed from glory to glory by the wait. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory ofthe Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree ofglory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV)

The doubt is turning into faith.
The worry is changing to hope.
The frustration is shifting to trust.
The impatience is giving way to self-control. The pain is being replaced with love.

Lord, these are such important transitions to occur to strengthen Your loved one as they wait on You. Some of the longings of their heart are strong and deep. Your beloved is waiting for a new job, their home to sell, a helper to marry, a child to heal from sickness, a friend to forgive them, or a family member to come back home and be reconciled to them. This is too overwhelming some days!

We ask for a double dose of grace to seek You in every season of waiting. If there is anything You’d have them do while they wait, please instruct them. Help Your precious child to focus on washing themselves with Your Word and to remain steadfast in their trials. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. (James 1:4 NIV)

Your will will be done. Your plans are perfect. The wait has a purpose.

You are NOT a man that You would lie and You will faithfully act on Your child’s behalf. (Numbers 23:19) Give them exactly what You know, in Your infinite wisdom; they need to be released from the dry and weary parts in their heart. Put Your Words in their mouth so they can speak life into the dry places. (Proverbs 18:21) Silence the enemy’s voice and accusations in Your child’s mind with Your battle cry, zeal, and love. (Isaiah 42:13) You overpowered the enemy at the cross; now, overwhelm Your beloved with Your love for them!

Father, thank You for Your perfect timing. Please pour out Your hope and grace that give Your child the ability to endure as they wait on You to answer their prayers in a beautiful way. May Your precious one be used for Your kingdom purposes as they wait and may they give You praise at all times.

May it be so!
In the mighty Name of Jesus we pray, Amen and amen.
I love you,

AMEN prayer below in comment section.

  1. Amen!

  2. Amen.

Sheila I’m praying for a financial break through, my mother and younger sister lives with me and I’m the only one paying all the bills. I’m trying to clear up debt and save up to own my own home since I’m a renter. It’s seems like things begin to get on track then I have another set back. I’m physically and mentally drained. Then they show no appreciation for anything I do. As well as I’m constantly praying for my son’s safety who’s in the Marines. Sheila pray that I gain more strength to deal with this. I truly believe that God has something greater in my future. I just need to continue to hold onto my faith and wait to receive it.

  3. Amen!! Oh thank you very much for putting this prayer together. It is so relevant to my current life. The upcoming future seems very gloomy to say the least, but I hope my faith will be strengthened and shorty I will be praising God for coming through as He always does.
Thank you for praying for us!!

  4. Simply amazing and as always the timing of this prayer is just profound! God hears and He knows… Thank you for listening! I am encouraged to trust and wait with joy and hope!

  5. Amen & Amen. Thank you Sheila for your perfectly timed prayer. My heart is so heavy with the knowledge that my hubby has filed for divorce. We haven’t spoken in 6 months. If I had my way, we would be happily ever after. However, I am not God. I am waiting on the Lord and his perfect timing for me, my hubby and if it is His will, our marriage. Only he can heal and reconcile. Thankful for the test, that will someday be my testimony. This mess of a life that will one day be a message. I know the plans the Lord has for me, will be revealed in His perfect timing. Until then, I will give praise while patiently waiting on the Lord.

Thank you for being such a blessing to me and others. Prayers for you and your ministry.

  6. Amen, help me Lord to wait and trust your timing.

  7. Amen & Amen! Please pray for salvation for all the men in my life… especially my sons & their father.

  8. Reginah Tambudzayi Nyanguwo says:

    Amen and amen
Thank you Sheila. My marriage has become so stagnant that it is draining me spiritually. Sometimes don’t even have the strength to pray for it
Need prayers for spiritual strength and to continue speaking life to the dry bones in my marriage. God bless you

  9. This prayer was right on time. I’m facing a crisis. Thank you for reminding me that no matter how big the problem Jehovah Nissi is my Banner. Every knee, problem, sickness and circumstance MUST BOW at THE NAME- JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES!!! God Bless you, Sheila.

  10. Yes God heard your prayers Sheila. Thank you. God bless. xxoo

  11. Lorraine Nearing says:

Amen! Thank you Sheila for this prayer! It is exactly what I needed this evening. My prayers are too numerous to list, but you mentioned a portion of them in your prayer. Just waiting on the Lord to manifest the answers in the natural. It just gets harder to watch and wait and not see anything come to pass. But I KNOW He IS ever faithful and His timing IS perfect! So I continue to trust and speak life into “those dry bones”!! God bless you for your uplifting prayers and for praying for all of us!!!! You’re a gem!!!

  12. Thank you Sheila for God’s word through you, He sees the need we all have and the hope and encouragement that will see us through His plan for our lives. Amen and Amen for your prayers for us all. I will ask prayers for pulling up stakes and breaking camp from this dry and weary land and strength and provision and opened doors that I may head into His Promised Land, conquering all the Giants that are not as big as they think they are. Amen.

  13. Amen and amen!

  14. Amen! Please pray for family member’s salvation and health issues that members of my family and myself have been dealing with. Thank you!

  15. Oh Shelia. No words. I am speechless at the timing of this prayer! I am waiting on the Lord for many of the above mentioned prayer. I have been crying out to Him for four days! Each day as I wait He sends me manna from heaven. Your prayer is just another example of His great love for me. Thank you, thank you for your wisdom and obedience to the Holy Spirit. Isn’t our God great!?!!

  16. Amen thank you Jesus

  17. Thank you for this payer. Your prayers always move me and I look forward to receiving them. For years I prayed for my husband to end his addiction and to rebuild our family. We had to hit rock bottom but it has finally happened. The Lord took care of us while my husband was getting clean and even though my husband had been the major bread winner, and couldn’t work, we never went without. It just amazed me at how God provided for us. Unfortunately, we are fighting to try to keep our house. The mortgage company wants all the back payments or no payments at all. I am ok if God feels that we need to move. I tend to worry about where we will live though and have been fighting to give it all to God. As long as I have my family and we can take our little fur babies, I’ll be happy. Please pray that God will show us what to do and help us to continue to help us rebuild our family.

  18. Amen! Your prayer touched my heart, Sheila. Thank you for your obedience!
I’d like you to continue praying for my three adult prodigals. I’ve been the one praying for so long that sometimes I do grow weary but I know God is orchestrating things and will bring them to fruition. It breaks my heart that they are drinking the enemy’s Kool Aid instead of the water that will, indeed, quench their thirst. They’ve been taught and the seed has been planted. My prayer is that I will be allowed to see their surrender to God!
Love you, Sheila, and thank you!!

  19. Amen Amen

  20. Sweet, sweet Sheila! I refer to Ecclesiastes 3:11 as my “IHOP” promise; a decade ago I was going through a most brutal divorce – in the thick of experiencing heart wrenching betrayal, rejection, and abandonment. My boys and I had just finished eating dinner at IHOP, and while leaving, in walks a man with that verse on his t-shirt. I about lost it – so broken.

“They wonder if their prayers will forever be fighting to break free and be answered in a beautiful way” … there is a specific prayer I’ve had for over 30 years, and I’ve yearned for it more intensely these last ten years – a freedom of sorts. God knows. And, it truly would take a miracle! Please also pray for my younger son Jackson – he’s stressing about college and funding, and for my older son Brandon as he will be heading out to boot camp (United States Marine Corps) on October 24. Their hearts: that God would relentlessly pursue my boys, guard them, and protect them.

In the mighty Name of Jesus I pray, amen and amen!

  21. Please pray for my adult son who went through a very hurtful divorce. He went into a deep depression for almost 3 years and would not seek help.He is doing better now but has not come back to church and is not trusting God to help him…

  22. Thank you….I usually don’t comment on these blogs, but I would so appreciate the prayers. I am running on empty literally. My son is struggling in school….it is a daily struggle, and it weighs so heavily on our family. I come home exhausted from my job, and we spend HOURS struggling through the homework and test expectations. He is only in elementary school. I am so exhausted that I can’t recall the last time I had a quiet time. I already get up at 4:45 every morning to get ready for work that I don’t think I can get up any earlier. I am also a minister’s wife, and I feel like such a poor example of that right now. Prayers would be greatly appreciated…

  23. Thank you Sheila for this encouragement today. I’ve been struggling lately to hold on to hope for Gordon. I do know that God is at work but I can’t see it. I ask your continued prayer for Gordon to return to God with his whole heart. Please remember Rochelle’s son Dave, too. Heal them O Lord and they will be healed, save them and they will be saved, for you are the One we praise! And I say Amen and Amen to Sheila’s prayer

    • Dearest Barbara, It’s so wonderful to see your name and know that you have been praying for our boys. I have too. Dave hit a pretty bad bottom over Easter of this year. He was done with us and life. Through our God who works miracles, three men from our church, my husband and Dave’s brother, got him down off the cliff of a mountain (literally). I just figured he was gone. We put him in on a 5150 because we didn’t know what to do and when he got out, he wanted nothing to do with us. He told us goodbye and that this was the last time we would see him. Well God had other plans. Dave ended up trying to get a job that didn’t work out but while he was there a friend of his from childhood dropped by to get new tires and asked Dave how he was. They talked and then Dave didn’t get the tire job but he got hired by his friend. A Christian company. He started going to church and is now serving in every capacity he can. He rents a room and is attending school. Trust me that he’s got a long way to go but inch by inch he is at least doing the right things. Praise God. There is hope. Now what I struggle with is being happy because I’m so afraid it won’t last. We’ve been here many times before. But for today, he’s doing ok and ok is good enough for me Let me know what Gordon specifically needs prayer for Love you! xxoo

      • OH Rochelle, I am celebrating with you! Praise God! Will be continuing in prayer for his total and complete recovery and healing. When Jesus sets you free you are free indeed. May it be so for both of our boys. I don’t even know what to pray for Gordon. He needs to return to God with his whole heart and Christian friends and total freedom from drugs and alcohol and such a love for Jesus that he will never even pick up those chains again. Thank you, thank you, for keeping him in your prayers. Love you, too

  24. Yes Jesus! Amen!

  25. Amen! My sweet family has been desecrated by divorce as my husband coveted another man’s wife. My children have suffered with the inability to trust and love. I am sure her children have suffered. It looks so shattered, so I wait boldly and confidently watching to see the beauty from the ashes. Thank you so much for this encouragement while I wait.

  26. Amen! I pray for my God sent helper to marry. Also the healing of minds and the strongholds that overtake them.

  27. Amen! Thank you so much for this prayer. I am waiting for a new job with a much better salary, so that I can take care of myself and my son, begin working on the massive amount of debt I have accumulated after having to take a 40% pay cut, and help my parents with their medical bills. Please pray that God leads me to the perfect job for me soon. Also, please pray for my son’s father. He is in need of steady work and that he grows a relationship with the Lord. Thank you!

  28. Amen! I know God loves me, and wants what’s best for me. He is in control, and I trust Him. Praying He gives me patience while waiting, and that I’ll see His directions to me clearly, and be obedient to follow. I love you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Thank you, Sheila! 🙂

  29. Amen! Amen! Amen! Thank you.

  30. AMEN! God is so good. He never fails or leaves us. I am blessed beyond belief and am so grateful for HIS love.

  31. Amen and Amen. Please pray for my son Andy who is out of control. My heart it’s sad seeing how he is not doing his best at life. Father, I ask you on Jesus name to proctect him and guide him to a permanent chance. Amen!

  32. Thank you Shelia for your beautiful prayer. You’re a light in the darkness and I thank God for you.
Please prayer for restoration of a beautiful broken relationship that makes me long for better days. I need God’s reassuring love to cover me and give me peace of mind and heart. I prayer God will guide me in leading a lost heart to Christ and show me exactly what to do to bring Him Glory. Please pray God will cover me and them in His infinite Mercy and Grace. Amen and Amen.

  33. Rosemary Matovu says:

    Amen and Amen

I thank God for these prayers. May God bless you.
Please remember me in prayer because of eye
challenge. I had an operation on 24th May on
my left eye. I am believing God for the total healing
of the eyes. I have confidence in God through
Jesus Christ, who went everywhere doing good, healing
all those who were oppressed by the name. Victory of
victories is mine, when I fall on my knees and the Lrd
fights my battles, victory of victories is mine. Amen.

  34. What a mighty God we serve! So grateful for the gift of prayer! Please pray for my students….that God would be revealed in an amazing way and their lives would be altered by His Presence.
    Thank y’all for praying💕

  35. Amen! Thank you Sheila for this prayer this morning! God’s timing is indeed perfect!

  36. AMEN!! Wow how timely this prayer is as I am so struggling with waiting on Hod to answer my prayers. Doing all I know to do to wait well and stay in faith but it’s getting harder to do since I’m so alone…need an Aaron and Hur to help lift my arms in prayer and praise! I am still waiting for Father to open doors of employment opportunities for both me and my daughter. After being unemployed since 2014 I am in so much debt that my home is threatening to be foreclosed on, credit rating dropped from high 700s to low 500. So tired of being alone and having to be strong all the time, been praying for a husband/helper to lean on for support. Still not at a place to count this trial all joy I just want this nightmare to end. Having too many panic/anxiety attacks. Have lost my joy and peace…please pray my strength just so ready to give up but don’t have no place to go! 💔🙁

  37. Thank you for your prayers that seem to arrive just at the appopriate time. God is good and we wait patiently as he puts a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Anxious to see what he has in store for us. Prayers for our health and employement, teenager to continue to be a shining light in our schools as she walks in his faith. Amen.

  38. Thank you for sharing Gods Word in such a beautiful, powerful way! We have moved to a new town and are waiting for our home to sell, and to be able to buy a new house. We are expecting our second child in November and feeling the weight of the unknown while trying to cling to His faithfulness that He will provide and we will have a home before our son arrives. We appreciate your prayers so much!! Much love and blessings to you!!

  39. Amen!
I’ve been divorced for 4 years and I’m praying for a husband that loves God with his whole heart and whom I can serve along side and who will love my 5 children as his own. Thank you for praying with me Sheila. You are a true blessing!

  40. Beverly Kelly says:

    AMEN and AMEN!!!

  41. Amen ❤️

  42. I am praying for God’s favor in my son’s life. He is unemployed and needs a door to open. Thank you.

  43. Amen. Thank you for the prayers and encouragement, I need to be reminded to wait and trust and know God is for me and my family. Praying for wounds to be healed and freedom to come and reign in my home and family

  44. Amen! Waiting on the Lord. 3 years ago this week my husband of 20yrs walked out. I’ve seen God work in my life and my children. Difficult journey but God has been faithful. There is no evidence that my spouse will ever return. I’m trusting and waiting on the lord for my complete healing. I still pray for his return. I’m waiting on the lord for my heart to truly and deeply accept this divorce/his choices so that I can move on in peace. May my life be a testament to you and bring your kingdom to earth through my life circumstance and the trust you are developing through it all. I cling to you Lord.

  45. For more than 15 years I have struggled with fear and doubt regarding a call God placed on my heart. Please pray for courage and strength to know God’s will and answer His call. Please pray for complete surrender and trust in the Lord. Pray that I would be anxious for nothing but in everything through pray and supplication, with thanksgiving to let my request be made known to God so the peace of God that passes all understanding would guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

  46. Amen! Thank you for your prayers Sheila! These emails always seem to arrive just when I need them most. Please pray for my health, and for financial miracle. Also for the health of my husband and my mother, and for God to provide protection and increased faith for my teenage children. God bless you!

  47. Kim Rickards says:

Amen! I’m standing in faith & God-fidence that the Father is bringing my new job with better benefits, perks, salary & team mates by or before Nov 1st, I will have favor with everyone I meet at my new job and travel management business will be successful (new clients booking big trips & my ability to travel more for site visits), my friendship with Andre F. will grow deeper, stronger and lead to new levels of communication, trust, honor, respect, value and commitment (marriage), my financial burdens are turning around and I will be debt free (home renovations being paid, bills paid in full $0 balances, mortgage payment lowered, credit score improving, student loans being paid off) and able to save & invest more, my brothers, sister and brother in law will seek the Lord and become full Christians, new employment for my brother Sean & mother, my friend Alicia will find a new home & move in before Thanksgiving, my grandmothers health will improve as she trusts in the Lord and my life will be an example of Gods love & faithfulness to friends, family and nonbelievers that I encounter leading them to repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior to Gods glory!

    • Kim Rickards says:

And my goal weight loss of 60lbs will be met by or before December 31st as I commit to being healthier mind, body and soul coming against the lies of obesity that I’ve struggled with for years in Jesus name!

  48. Amen!

  49. Sheila, I had just finished praying for strength & patience to wait on the Lord’s timing. I’ve been praying this same prayer for a few days now, then I read your prayer this morning! How awesome! I have been waiting for so many years now for marriage restoration but the Lord has been faithful. He has blessed me in other areas of my life. He has been my provider, comforter, shield, and protector. I know he has a purpose for the pain. So I must persevere and know He will finish the good work He has begun. Amen!
Thank you for your prayers! I was so excited to see the email this morning!
    ! Love you!!

  50. Amen! Thank you Jesus for breathing life into dry bones!

  51. Thank you for your powerful and mighty reminders of Gods promises. Would you please pray for my husband; that he would come to know the lord. That a spirit of fear and anger would be broken and he would learn to trust our mighty God. That he would be a humble, gracious father and leader of our home.

  52. Amen. Thank you for your words and your prayers. I ask that you would pray for my marriage. Everyday we seem to be drifting further apart and the wall between us keeps getting higher. After 28 years of marriage, I feel that the hope is almost gone. I pray for a spiritual transformation in our lives. I pray for protection from the enemy and for healing for our marriage. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  53. We need a church family. For a year now, we’ve been visiting a mega church that seems really awesome at the pastoral level, but beneath that, finding fellowship with the congregation is like trying to crack a bank vault. Asking God to help us find a church family. We desperately need fellowship with other believers.

  54. Thank you this prayer was for me!!! I am so grateful. I have been going thru so much I’m not even sure what I asked you to pray for because my list keeps growing in needs. But today I’m grateful to report a praise report. I had asked for a job. And after a couple of years of trying God answered and I now have the job I prayed for. I also asked for healing in my body. I have several requests here and Gos has started to answer. I know it’s because of the prayers of friends like you. So thank you so much. I’m eternally grateful for the prayers. Pls help me continue to pray for complete healing. Thanks.
